Bought new car, need tips and help?1Ember2015-12-18 19:27:33
I just got a 1999 Buick Century Custom, has 106 thousand miles on it, brand new intake gasket, oil change and no leaks. I just had it pressure checked and I need to buy two new tires than that. Other than that this car looks and runs great. I am wanting to know anything, any tips or advice you all have to give on maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep on this car. I am not tech friendly or car smart so yeah.... Also I am buying insurance, liability with uninsured motorist and I was wondering, are there any other, or better insurance companies, that are cheap/affordable, besides Direct Auto and Progressive?[View Answers]
What can I do to fight an auto insurance company that doesn't want to pay 100%?1Macaila2015-12-18 19:27:27
I was in a car accident in which another motorist pulled out in front of me to make a U-turn while I was making a left turn in that same lane. The police gave the other motorist a ticket for improper lane change and the police report noted that. The other motorist wanted to claim that I was at fault for driving too fast. He believed that he had plenty of time to merge into that lane and that I came up on him way too fast. This isn't true because I know the speed limit in that area because I work at a Rite Aid that is located at that intersection. He filed a claim with his insurance company and they contacted me to make a statement and get some estimants. After I did all that, they are only offering me 70% of the value of the car before the wreck because the repair estimants were higher than the value of the car. They claim that I had "contributing factors" to the wreck and therefore they are only going to pay 70%. To me, this is outrageous because their driver made an illegal maneuver to cause the accident and I had a green light to make a left turn and I wasn't speeding. What can I do to make the insurance company change their offer? If I can't get it changed, I won't be able to fix my car or purchase a new one to replace it...[View Answers]
Medical bills in auto accident claim.......?1Cee2015-12-18 19:26:42
Long story short, In an auto accident. Not at fault. I have hired an attorney. Today I found out that the handful of bills that the Third Party did pay was submitted to MY insurance company by the Third party to be reimbursed. And now, My insurance company is claiming that they paid these bills and put a lien on my settlement for the amount they paid. This doesn't make sense to me. I didn't submit any bills to my own insurance. I paid stuff out of pocket the first few trips to the doctor and since then every thing else has been sent to our health insurance. My Insurance company wasn't any help to us at all. I did all the leg work to get things done for repairs to my car. They haven't handled anything for me. I do NOT want to pay them a penny. I plan to talk to my attorney. I just wanted some sort of info ahead of time. Can they do this? And why would they reimburse the third party like that?[View Answers]
A few questions about auto loans?0Denesh dillon persaud rokdjdnn, x2012-11-05 21:30:30
I just found out my car is totalled and now i'm shopping around for a new car. I'll need to get a new loan, but I have some questions. I financed the old car and made payments on it for about two years before the accident. The insurance company paid off the remainder of the loan, but there wasn't really anything left over, so i'm back at square one. I would like to get a newer car, and my credit is ok, but i'm wondering what the best approach is to get the best rate. Should I go back to the same lender I had before? Would my chances be better with them since I was their customer before? Or should I try a different lender? If so, what are some good auto loan companies? And one last thing... I could probably increase my credit score if I paid down my credit cards (I only have two). But I was saving my money to put down a larger down payment. Do you think it's better use my savings to pay down my cards and improve my credit and hopefully get a lower interest rate or should I use the money for a large down payment upfront? I could do a little of both I suppose. Anybody work in the auto loan industry or have experience that might want to share some advice? Thanks so much![View Answers]

Why do liberals claim to believe in evolution...?0Brittty2012-11-05 09:55:07
yet, they are the first ones to artificially support something destined for failure. I thought the whole idea behind evolution was to weed out useless traits by allowing them to fail. If a union\ newspaper \auto manufacturer \bank \federal program \entitlement \insurance company is proven to be run inefficiently or destined for failure they will be the first to bail it out, throw money at it, and artificially prop it up instead of allowing it to be replaced by something more efficient and better. I realize that republicans do this as well but not nearly as much.[View Answers]
Does this sound like a scam?0anmol2012-11-05 08:14:35
I've been shopping for auto insurance quotes online, and I recently came across a site that listed very good prices and quotes. Well, before actually making a decision, I wanted to contact the customer service representatives for the company, in order to ask more questions that were not covered on the website. When I went to look up the number, I found it wasn't listed. Instead, they have a form where you fill out the information (along with your credit card number), and claim they will provide you with a customer service number, after you purchase the plan. I checked the rip off report, and other sites to see if anyone else had a problem with them, but I couldn't find any complaints lodged against them online. So i'm wondering, should I continue to try to research them online, and possibly find a number for them elsewhere, or just write it off as yet another scam? They had REALLY good prices....but I am well aware of the fact that some things are indeed too good to be true.[View Answers]

Are you legally covered by insurance, if the policy is in your spouses name and it is for full coverage?0Math Question2012-11-03 12:27:26
Ok...I have had a couple(2) tickets, so my husband and I did not put my name down on our auto policy. I was cited for speeding Anyways, about a month after the citation, I recieved a letter from Indiana requesting that I provide proof of insurance, even though I showed the card to the police officer. The form has to be filled out by the agent, and I was going to have my husbanmd take it there, and just say that I live out of state and this happened while visiting. We can not afford higher premiums right now, as I was recently laid off. The thing I am worried about is there is a space on the form where it asks if the vehicle owner, driver or both were insured. I have never had an accident, but if I were to have one I would be covered, right? We are married, and we have full coverage. Another insurance agent told me this once, as he was really trying to help us keep our rates down. Since then, he was promoted and moved to another state, and our poilcy went to another lady there. I do not know how she would react. If she says that only the vehicle owner was covered, does that mean Indiana will suspend my license? The car is copvered and anyone driving it, with full coverage right? It is a reputable company. Please advise! And I know....I shouldnt speed. Thank you![View Answers]
Checking Account In Collections And Savings Account Is Still Open?0imbillie2012-11-03 11:47:20
I have two accounts with Citizens Bank... One is a checking account the other is a savings. I'm a freshman in college and ran in to difficulties with my living situation therefore I fell short on cash...and wasn't able to put enough in my bank account in time in order for my auto insurance to withdraw the monthly installments.. The company was never successful in taking out any money however every ATTEMPT cost me $35...and they attempted 10 times!!! Resulting in me being overdrawn $350... Ofcourse at the moment I wasn't able to pay them back so they sent me to collections... This sucks because I am not able to have an active checkings account, but I do have an active savings account with $5.75 in it..lol... Well, I am renting a room, and I need a place to put my money while I save for tuition.. which is due soon.. I do not trust money in my room. I rather put it in my savings, but will the collection agency, or the bank take the money to pay for any debts I have with them? I still find it unfair that I have to pay for 350 of just over draft fees when my account wasn't overdrawn.. What should I do?[View Answers]
What to do after an auto accident and your claim is denied?0Joelseph2012-11-03 10:25:03
I just got into a auto accident a few days ago, eventho the accident was not my fault my claim was deny by the guy at faults insurance company. I rear ended him after he suddenly stopped and put his car in park during a suicide attempt. He was cited for the accident for stopping without a cause and his car was towed from the scence. The guy did'not respond to his insurance company until almost a week after the accident and a few days later they called me and said they were denying my claim. I am 6 months pregnant and spent the night in the hospital because of this idoit and my 91 saturn is totalled while his brand new lexus has a few minor straches to the back. The bad thing for me is my insurance only covers liability, medical payment, road side service, and uninsured vechile. So basically I am without a car right now. Is there anything that I can do?[View Answers]

After Health Care passes with public option will Conservatives look back and think they again they were wrong?0Ivona2012-11-03 07:27:36
Conservatives are rallying against Health Care reform mainly because of the public option. The public option as planned will be a choice for anyone, it will be run entirely like a private insurance company but instead of profits going into CEO's pockets to buy mansion and private jets, it will be put back into system. There will be no public monies that will used to run this program. It will not add to the deficit and it will make private insurance companies reform themselves in order to compete with the Government run plan. They will have to cut the 30 million dollar a year salaries and some of the current bureaucracy they use to weed out people that they do not want to insure and other high risk clients. Both private insurance and public insurance will not be able to cut people from their plans for having used too much nor will they be able to say no to people with preexisting conditions. Since this is a mandate like Auto Insurance many millions more people will be joining private insurance companies as well as the public insurance agency. The predicted enrollment is 95% to private insurers and 5% to the public option plan. If this plan works as planned it will be a very good thing for America. Almost all people will be covered and many of these people will see a Doctor for the first time in their lives and get preventative care possibly preventing billions of dollars in money that otherwise might have gone to their care if they had not had preventative care. The Government estimate over time this alone will save 100's of billions. Assuming all goes as planned what part of this sounds like a bad idea? Now in order to answer you are assuming this all runs as planned as it is the question. If you automatically say this will not work and that this cannot work then there is no point in answering this now is there?[View Answers]
Misinformed auto insurance company about an accident?0God Help Me2012-11-03 01:15:36
Our car was hit by a speeding car on a three-way intersection as we were making a left turn on to the cross street. The other car sped from the other direction and hit our car. I told the insurance company that I hit them, but really they hit me. The company even sent out a person to get an estimate for the damages and agreed that we were the ones that got hit. Is there any way I can fix this?[View Answers]
After an auto accident?0Amber shall2012-11-02 23:42:20
I had an auto accident today, there was an officer there when it happened. Then we wrote reports and the officers told me I should call my insurance company ASAP. Luckily, no one was injured. The damage wasn't huge, the other person's car's door is messed up that she couldn't open it. My bumper was cracked just a little bit. It happened in a parking lot and my friend says it could be a no fault accident. But I have no clue since it is the first time I got into accident. My friend told me I should wait till the case report come out then decide whether to call the insurance company or not. Should I call them now or not? Is my rate gonna go up since the other person is gonna call their insurance company to report the accident?[View Answers]

Auto accident insurance question: why do I have to buy back my totaled car?0Gregg2012-11-02 18:53:45
I just got into an accident with my car, which was not my fault and even though all the additional things I put into the car, they considered it a total loss. I still have possession of the car cause it was drivable and took it home. My question is when they write me the check for a certain amount, will they take my car also? I don't want them to take my car I put so much money into it, and they are giving so little back. Also, if applicable, Why do I have to buy my own car back even though I paid for and own it? Shouldn't the insurance company pay for it in full without taking my car? It wasn't my fault that some idiot rammed me. That would take a considerable amount off the payment that I will receive I'm guessing... right?[View Answers]
How can I find this kind of job?0Pyrgus2012-11-02 14:30:03
I want to work at home but not for one of those places where you just take the work they get as they get it. I want to work on the phone & work at home, have benefits & not sell anything. I would answer the calls from the 800 info. mercials but don't know where to call to get one of those jobs. Are their certain businesses that hire people to do that work?....or do I call the particular company such as Afflec Insurance...or are their places that get info. that I could call people & get info. from home.....I know what I want but don't know who offers the kind of work I want....I also want to be able to make more money than Alpine Access places offer. I think they offer about $10 an hour. I need to make much more. I used to make a lot of money getting auto & home insurance. So I want a base pay then an amount for each call that is completed so I can make about $25. an hour.[View Answers]
