Question about Social Security disability after a heart attack?0Tammy2012-07-11 11:35:02
Does anyone know how hard it is to get disability after a heart attack? I had a few years ago. I had two occasions and a balloon catheter put in. My first two stress tests were good. I had to have a stress test of emergency in September, including a nuclear stress test. I had done this under the care of charity by different cardiologists. I should have done in order to obtain approval for surgery on a broken arm. Nobody told him how well I did, but was acquitted of surgery. I've been living off money from the inheritance of the past few years and my maintenance costs are minimal, but the money is starting to run out. Before my heart attack that has always worked in jobs of physical production in a hot environment. I went to several employment agencies trying to find a production job, finally found one who sent me to a factory that was 105 degrees in the work area.It was about 95 degrees outside.I only lasted 4 hours because lightheadiness had three periods. I started getting these spells after my heart attack. Between September 2010 and September 2011 I got these spells and fainted three times during that period of one year. Cycling seemed to trigger these episodes. One was on a day when the temperature was around 50-55 degrees, one degree per day 92 and the last was in the ER when I broke my arm cycling. The emergency physician, said one of my blood pressure was very low. I can take Coreg (carvidilol), lisinopril, and pravastatin and aspirin. I tried to get a job with air conditioning in retail at places like Wal Mart and Lowes, but because of the economy, never received an answer. I'm up to my last drop so to speak. I do not know where to turn. I talked about the first 2 episodes dark with my cardiologist and tested and never found any problem. During a blackout spell I fell and hit my head on pavement. It left a pool of blood. My friend tried to wake up, then tried to get help from neighbors. He said he was about 10 minutes, but I'm guessing 5 minutes. He was about to call an ambulance. I was only breifly to the emergency department. Another time, I'm guessing it was out of about 45 seconds. I hit my head then, but I was semi-conscious. I was partially aware of my surroundings, but it was like a dream state. It sounded like an engine reving in my head. I have no health insurance now, and I do not like to depend on charity care. I just did it before because it was an emergency, when I broke my arm and he could "shake it off."
Social Security disability medicare question?2Chapman2012-06-14 16:55:35
My husband just received his first social security disability payment I think is the retroactive payment of 6-12 months (not sure because it has not received notification of approval , the deposit has just appeared in your account at today). He has been on long term disability through her work for over a year and have been paying COBRA - $ 600.00 per month for 14 months. We have more than 4 months of COBRA eligibility and then have no health insurance . My company does not offer. Medical expenses and prescriptions will cost more than $ 600.00 per month once you finish Cobra. My question is when does Medicare start covering him? He is only 58 now. Please do not respond if you do not know, and I have looked on the web - sites I'm just trying to confirm what seems to me. Thank you !

You may qualify if you have 6 credits earned in the three-year period ending when your disability starts MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Age 24 to 31 - You may qualify if you have credit for working half the time between age 21 and the time you become disabled. For example, if you become disabled at age 27, you would need credit for three years of work (12 credits) for the last 6 years (between ages 21 and 27). MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Age 31 or older - In general, it is necessary to have the number of work credits shown in the following table. Unless you are blind, you must have earned at least 20 credits in the 10 years immediately before you became disabled. "" "" MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Rare endocrine disease, hypertension, neck injury, anxiety disorder ... and so on. SSDI in legitimate need to recovery from brain surgery to keep my 2 year old son. please do not bring your politics here ... MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Okay so I've been doing a lot of research. I am confused because I have 24 years, and that is the beginning of a category of credit scores work. MedlinePlus before the age of 18, I won about 5 work credits (about 5,000) MedlinePlus 18-22: i gained about 7 or fewer credits (all estimates, you can only win 4 year) MedlinePlus I left my last job at the age of 22 years, 10 months after he turned 22, at the time I earned around 7500, which is well above the need to win the 4480 maximum of 4 credits per year MedlinePlus MedlinePlus MedlinePlus the disease usually surfaces around age 20 when the onset of my symptoms appeared originally, but never received treatment. MedlinePlus Or MedlinePlus i became disabled at 23, when I got pregnant and symptoms emerged endocrine disease, and began receiving treatment for symptoms such as high blood pressure and colorectal problems that led to four surgeries. after doing a lot of my own research I was able to find the name of the very rare disease I have. The official diagnosis is coming MedlinePlus MedlinePlus So with all information that the question is about MedlinePlus Should I apply now, before an official diagnosis, so we can get benefits closer to the time my husband was honorably discharged from the army? MedlinePlus As for the whole thing work credits ... i just do not know what to think about that. i used the calculator and said I was not eligible but that just does not seem right or fair ... Not that I expected it to be fair. MedlinePlus Once you receive the treatment for this disease is going to be very sick for at least a year, at which time my husband will be out of service and looking for a new job or go to college. i will most likely have a problem with finding a pre-existing condition insurance, so I really need the SSDI, SSI unlike. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus any help, understanding, links, anything is appreciated. I have more questions, but I want to start with the basics. if you have these answers and probably the answers to many other questions I would like to add me to your contacts or something so we can exchange emails or chat yahoo. I do not know how to do this ... I'm not very computer savvy. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus THANK MedlinePlus m

What will happen if i win a lawsuit while collecting social security disability?0Nenny2012-07-17 20:31:07
i recieve disability and my husband was recently was disabled with terminal lung cancer and told his timeline was 12 to 18 months. Two weeks later he was hit by a car while riding a walmart scooter back into the store. So we hired a lawyer... we weren't told we could both lose our disability if we collected any money or even if the persons insurance paid the hospital bills pertaining to the car accident. the real reason we wanted to hire a lawyer was because he knows he is dying and wanted to have money after the bills are paid, to get everything prepared for his funeral and to set up the same thing for me..We didn't want our kids to have to deal with anything as far as cost or arrangements so that was the main reason for filing the suit...But now the lawyer doesn't know if we will lose our disability or not and say's we could always refile for our disability..Well that is not an option,My husband is dying and it took me three years to get my disability.and he took care of me while I I was waiting for my disability to be approved...At this scary point in our lives, losing our disability is not an option because we would be homeless without it ...please someone help me...
