Our health insurance rates are rising another 25 % ( up 15 % last year , five years before% ). Employees were concerned enough to ask, "Why all the increases ? " The company explained , due to the use of a long-term employee health insurance , the increase is necessary. She has 89 years, and has used more than $ 1 million health insurance , therefore , increased . My husband and I are healthy , and only use health insurance for preventive maintenance , and absolutely necessary, and no children yet, so .... Why should we penalize the use of others? Forgive me if I sound callous, I really do not want to be. His insights are appreciated!

Well, you should hear the other questions we receive on this subject. They are asking otherwise.

I once heard a lawyer say about arbitration , "a good referee will finish their work with any party to be happy. " I think our system is very close to leave anyone happy. It's not perfect though.

You're not being insensitive , you're being realistic . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus No, I do not think everyone should be penalized . And it's a shame . But car insurance does the same for us , even for those who have exemplary records . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus For me , everything but my salary has increased over the past five years. This poor old woman may not be able to afford their own care. For anyone of any age who suffers a devastating disease struck the family and finances , it seems there must be some negotiation perhaps between providers and patients, to resolve each issue in a fair and adequate . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus I also pray for the way up and out of that debt , for those who suffer , and for healthy individuals also suffer economically .

In think you may misunderstand how insurance is supposed to work . The purpose of insurance is to spread the risk of loss on so many people overall rates are lower. If everyone pays based on personal history , healthy people would pay very little and sick people could not afford any coverage . You're doing very well now , but your insurance would be too expensive for you if you have had a serious accident or contracted a serious illness . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Yes , it is unfortunate that their rates have gone up. However, put the shoe on the other foot . If you were having health problems , would you like your rates driven by clouds ( possibly to the point that they can not afford them ) , so that everyone could get a low price ?
