I was reading this history of American comics (Captain America: The Night of the Tumbler ()), in which a supervillain, the glass, took out a life insurance policy, died as a result of a fight with Captain America. Later his mother fell ill, and his surviving son could not cope with the bills. Then, recalled the life insurance policy, and his son tried to cash the manager, however, smugly informed him that because his brother had been a super villain involved in criminal activity at the time of his death were not likely to honor the policy.

Not being able to pay expensive legal fees, the acrobatic abilities adopted brother of his brother, and broke into offices to steal your record. This brought to the attention of Captain America, he did tell the whole story. This did not seem right to him either, and he joined him in continuing his research, which they learned that the company knowingly insured many supervillains known, without any intention to pay in case of the death . The case of Glass come to light simply because he was the first to die.

Marvel Comics, in particular, tend to research which speaks to their stories reasonable. I should not have written this in if this is not a popular practice of insurance companies.

I think that life insurance companies are not law.
They should be able to judge who is and is not worthy to be covered is based on criminal record. Obviously, if someone took out a policy themselves, and went and joined "44 Minutes", their dependents or that they should not be able to profit from his crime of "blue suicide", but the very company should not have the power to say. The judge must decide in his case: "All rights of insurance are canceled / sustained."

What if someone is in jail for something minor or stupid it was not thier fault? Can a policy that has paid an $ 10,000 was canceled because one was jailed for two weeks for failing to repair your taillight $ 2.50? Or having beaten a police officer, for any reason? The door opened for business to succeed in secret dishonest charges against customers, to get to reverse policies.

I think it should be perfectly possible, even advisable-one convicted of taking an insurance policy for himself to go to jail. It should be a reasonable risk, because most people are not going to jail to become Gabriel Yu-Lau (The One), and fight with all the other prisoner. There should be many prisoners to whom nothing happens (as far as possible in the hell-hole that is a U.S. prison), which should be a great risk to an insurance enterprise.

When a person is in jail, their companies do not stop installmental get paid? If not, how they refuse to pay, if your client is killed or injured?

You have to read the exclusion of specific policy.

As long as the insured makes payments on time, the policy remains in effect for all hazards that are stipulated in the contract.

Most life insurance policies covers all causes of death, except acts of war and suicide.

As the above suggests, review the policy of the specific exclusions regarding the death in prison, but it is unlikely that any.

You should read the terms and conditions of that specific policy.

It should not matter how they die in prison . Once you have a policy ( which means it will not cover you if you're in prison , but if you have the policy before committing the crime, then it does not matter ) , there are very few exclusions , but who can read for sure.
