I was fired right next to ... and my insurance premium was deducted from my paycheck yet final payment .. Does that mean you have an additional 30 days of coverage ?

You have to ask your employer. Since being laid off, if your employer has at least 20 full-time employees , you are eligible for COBRA. You will receive this documentation within 45 days after the last day of work . The employer has 30 days to notify the administrator of completion and have 14 days to notify the COBRA. You will then have 60 days to elect coverage or reject it. But you have to pay the full premium and 100 % plus 2% for administrative costs.

It's usually the last day of the month, which was dismissed on 19 and my insurance expired May 30 . The employer is legally obligated to offer COBRA, but is expensive.

Usually the 30th but I would check with your human resources department for companies to be sure.

If your former employer has 20 or more employees , then they are required by federal law to provide what is called COBRA health insurance plan . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus This plan is essentially a plan COBRA continuation group and will last for a minimum of 18 months. MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Note that these plans are usually quite expensive COBRA so just choose the COBRA plan if you can not qualify for a much cheaper plan individual health insurance on the open market .
