What is the average cost of replacing a water heater? Which would you choose insurance payment or heater?0sistagirl2012-09-07 04:56:02
My water heater should be replaced (electric ) I have a sure guarantee that will replace however there are some costs not covered - the PAN , permission , elsewhere, that will cost me $ 512.00 . They gave me the option to "withdraw " meaning cut me a check and try to figure it out on my own. The problem is that the "withdrawal " amount is unknown and may take up to two weeks for me to know the amount before you can decide - two weeks without a hot shower is hell ! But I'm not sure what to do . What would you do ? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Can anyone guess what might amount you gave me? MedlinePlus MedlinePlus The insurance company is American Home Shield . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Any advice will help. I own a new house and know nothing of the field house ! MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Thank you !

Do I need a permit for a tankless water heater? Should I get one?0Fabian2012-09-30 08:45:02
Lots of questions I have. I am installing a tankless water heater in the next week or so, and wanted to see if i should get it permitted or not. Do I need to get one? My plumber said I don't need it as it may lead to other items and more costs. Is it necessary? If I don't get one, will that effect my home oweners insurance?

My water heater broke on sat and on sunday statefarm told us to go ahead and have it repaired?3.X ° 2012-05-22 03:19:52
well , sat in our hot water broke, the water was boiling at the top and flooded my laundry room and my apartment was flooded with about 2 inches of water. the call and told us what was our duty and told us to go ahead of a contractor to replace the water heater and repair the water damage. was also very cold outside and asked if we would be staying in a hotel until the job is done because it had no heat or water and 2 children. We said no because the weather was going to be light the next day and we could make it through one night. so the man came and fixed the water heater and all the damage . and my husband called on Monday to fax all they got . called yesturday to see the state and now they say they will not pay because it was an act of God and that covers you. ! wtf!
Should Insurance cover water heater damaged due to failed pressure reulator?3Cymie2012-09-12 15:47:03
The pressure in the line of my house no water input , which input pressure of 160 psi in the community (rather than regulators 60-70) burst my hot water heater . My insurance company says they will pay water damage ( minus the deductible ), due to flooding, but not refund the water heater. If they are willing to house me compensate for damage due to failure of the water heater , why not be reimbursed for the damage to the water heater due to a failure of the regulator ?
Does homeowner insurance cover water heater leaking and related drywall damage.?0Charm2012-10-17 13:45:02
I have a rental property , recently the water heater pipe was leaking and caused mold inside the drywall . Property manager paid my $ 450 to replace the water heater as suggested by the manager of the property and another $ 550 to clean the mold and plaster patch . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus My homeowners insurance covers " The alterations , appliances, fixtures and improvements that are part of the building contained withine the " residence premises . And ownership structures only by you , other than the " residence premises " in the location of the facilities "residence" . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Does anyone know in this case the expense of replacing the water heater and drywall work will be covered all or only some ? I called the insurance company and ask me to file the claim with the photos of their investments and can not tell me whether or not now cover . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus My deductible is $ 500, not sure if it is worth filing suit will be covered only if part . Therefore, you could end up with small amount of refund and great leap of the insurance premium next year . Can anyone help with this? thank you very much

My roof has leaked and now I have water damage but the insurance won't pay. Are they cheating me? ?3Yennis2012-06-03 08:27:51
Two years ago my house was damaged by a storm so my insurance paid for a new one. But the boy would not approve request until I found a roofing company dirt cheap . Then when it did was to inspect the work before the check. Now my house has started leaking (after a severe storm ) and my roof has severe damage to it, but the type of insurance, said they will not cover it because it is a labor issue . The roofing company is no longer in business so now what?
