Petplan insurance Canada- also dog insurance in general?1Queenie2015-12-18 19:27:31
1. Do you have insurance for your dog in general? Why or why not? 2. If you do how much is your monthly premium? Do you feel like you get your money's worth? 3. Anyone in Canada have a company they would recommend? Is it normal for my dog's insurance to start at $420/year and go up to $980 for a 24lb mutt? The $980 plan covers 6 months of flea, tick, heartworm preventative, annual shots and more dental than the others. Am I better to start with a cheaper plan and move up the next year if I find it worthwhile? Am I maybe better just to have money saved in quickly cashed-in investments for emergencies? $420 a year seems like a lot of money considering it doesn't cover his shots, preventatives, etc- which is mostly why I go to the vet now (he's had 1 throat infection= $100- which wouldn't have been covered if it was the only thing to happen because of the deductible). Any opinions?[View Answers]

How much should a doctor charge for a normal office visit?0S.S2012-11-05 15:42:01
I recently went to a doctor for a check up. NOthing major, just blood work, and the general things. When I received my statement from my insurance I almost fainted. I live in a very rural community and the amount of money this doctor charged seemed a little much. He charged my insurance 208.00. Is this normal these days or am I right in thinking this is a bit much? Also, he is not a MD he is a DO. Also, this is what he charges every time. Not just initial visit.[View Answers]

Driving permit question for a vespa scooter?0Freak 2012-11-05 02:31:36
I'm living in the UK on a long-term work permit and have put off getting a driver's license here due to the insurance costs and general hassle of owning a car. But I'm now considering buying a Vespa scooter to get around town. My understanding is that one only need's a 'learner's license' for scooters that have certain engine capacities (up to 125cc?), but I've not found any clear information about this online. Also, I know I'd have to take a CBT test, but do I first need to have a learner's license before this? Incidentally, I've had a US driver's license for about 16 years, so I'm not a new driver in general, just to the UK... Thanks.[View Answers]

How is this health bill going to affect Americans?0zana2012-11-05 00:49:57
How will it affect the poor? How will it affect the middle class? How will it affect the rich? I'm honestly a little worried about these changes because I just finished CC treatment and I'm having trouble already with my insurance allowing PET scans every 6 mos. for the next 2 years...but given my slighly unusual CC circumstances my doc agrees that PET scan would be the best option to double check my situation, but not to excessively use it since the radioactive material they inject into you is harmful to the kidneys... I'm scared right now that I am not going to be able to get the scans my doc says I should have, now with the health bill, I am really afraid that they are going to put me in a general "pool" of women with my stage and cancer type and have a cookie cutter plan for it...when my situation is a little unique due to location of where the cancer formed and how aggressive it was.... ok so this is about me, but I want to know how its going to affect everyone else too! And I am also worried that half of the good docs are gonna drop off the face of the earth after this passes because med will be a waste of their time and not so profitable![View Answers]
Puppy Basics Questions?0TurtleTommie2012-11-05 00:14:56
My family is looking to adopt a puppy from our shelter. We do not have it narrowed down what mix or breed, so I am wondering if you can tell me some reliable websites that can tell me about general puppy basics, not breed related basics. Topics I need to research about the most how to prevent nipping and how to react if it happens on accident how to train my dog to not react to strangers or dogs the best way to train loose leash walks how to calm my dog down if it happens to get too hyped up while playing I also need a good website that teaches you basics of clicker training for sit, down, stay, come I have already researched potty training, scheduling, exercising, pet insurance and have a veterinarian set up for the wellness exam on the first day we get it. Thank you if you can point me into the right direction for this information[View Answers]
Cost of living in northern wales?0Bree2012-11-04 21:16:26
I have been offered a position in Bangor, Wales. Does anyone from the region care to enlighten me on the cost of living in the region and what would be considered a decent salary, considering: * We are a couple with two children. I would imagine that my wife would not work in the beginning * The children currently do to nursery schools and by the time we will have relocated, the older one should probably start primary school. * We are not big spenders, but we want the best education possible for the kids (and willing to spend on it, as long as it is not too posh); we would probably want complimentary insurance (Bupa + etc.) ; and that's about it, I think. We are relocating after many years overseas, so I am not sure what else is "necessary" Also - could you please tell me in general about the area? We have to been to Wales several times for a holiday (and liked it...), but have not lived there. I am Scottish, my wife is half German half Israeli, none of us knows any Welsh other than Bore Da. How friendly would people there be to English speakers (my wife speaks good English, but with a "foreign" accent)? How difficult would it be to learn Welsh? Would we be (especially my wife being German and Jewish) the only foreigners in town?[View Answers]
Burned Out/Current Job/Should I quit?0QAQA2012-11-04 20:47:16
Here is the scenario I am an auto claims rep for a large insurance company. I have been here for about 3 and a half years. I did not take the job to continue to handle auto claims or claims in general for the remainder of my career. I wanted to get into underwriting/marketing or some other more exciting functional area However, I have not been successful in obtaining such a position. I applied for a position within the organization (both in the local office and another office within the state) Now I am completely mentally spent. I am very intelligent (graduated high honors from college). and the job is burning me out. I cannot standing doing administrative and routine tasks. I need more challenge/stimulation I have tried to look for another job in the meantime, but have not been successful. I don't have alot of free time with my commute to look. I have had some interviews, but I am afraid my burnout may be showing through in the interviews. Should I just quit and recharge?[View Answers]

Trying to get my license un-suspended in Florida?0ruby hall2012-11-04 15:33:25
After I totaled my car, I was given a ticked for not being able to produce my registration (October 2009) When I sent in a money order to pay that ticket, I didn't know I had to send in a copy of my registration, so it was returned to me (expired, so I couldn't get my money back for the money order of 80-ish bucks.) I have not attempted to pay that ticket since then. Additionally, I decided to cancel my insurance on the car, since it wasn't able to drive, and I didn't have the money to get it fixed for a while. Florida law requires you to send in your plates a week after canceling insurance, or your license is suspended. I was unable to do this because I live in an apartment complex that tows cars without tags. My license is now suspended, and probably has been for a while. (I didn't bother looking until I got myself into a situation where I could afford to sort this all out.) I would imagine --please correct me if I'm wrong!!!-- that this due to both not surrendering my tags and not paying my ticket. I am now looking to get my license un-suspended. What is the process for sorting all of this out? I've decided to junk the car in question, and have a new one. 1) I imagine I still have to produce my registration to pay that ticket. Does that mean I have to get my license un-suspended BEFORE surrendering my car to a junking company (at which point the car would no longer be registered to me)? 2) Do I have to pay any fees as a penalty for not surrendering my tags? 3) What are the basic fees to have a license un-suspended in general? 4) Is there anything else I'm overlooking??? Sorry, I know this is a billion questions in one, but I really don't know where to start!!!! Thanks in advance for any help you can give!!! 3)[View Answers]
Why won't dental insurance cover adult braces?0Keza2012-11-04 05:10:01
I am going to get braces and have been trying to find ways to cut corners. I have good dental insurance, but of course it doesn't cover any portion of adult braces. I have been researching and found pretty much just the general statement "Most dental insurance doesn't cover adult braces or doesn't cover any portion/percentage of adult braces." What I can't find is an answer to WHY it doesn't cover them or any portion of them? It seems that once you turn 18 you no longer matter and can't get help for anything.[View Answers]

Considering we are in an economic recession, many Americans are hoping that things can be done to improve the economy; healthcare reform is something that many are hopeful will better our economy. However, others feel that it would go horribly wrong, and ultimately bankrupt our country. Economy aside, I would hope that many realize the importance of healthcare. In my opinion, it is a right to all humans. Considering the issue from a political standpoint, it is clearly obvious that healthcare is a right. Currently in the United States, we are a federal republic with democratic principles under a capitalistic economic system and socialism for needed services. These services include the military, public education, police, and welfare. So it should be a surprise that we are lacking socialism with needed services in our medical system for the average American citizen. What is even worse is the hypocrisy that has been in use; the very ones who pass those laws against universal healthcare are the ones enjoying a social medical system. Also, the Preamble to the Constitution states that the United States government will [View Answers]

and the ambulance took you to a private hospital, and you had no medical insurance and the bill came to $2000.00 and you were on general relief (welfare) and had no job, would the hospital let this bill go because you cannot pay it? Does this make sense?0you know me...2012-11-03 21:14:30
My wife typed this letter a while ago. We started arguing about her going to her friend Jeff's house til 4am. She said I needed to leave if I didn't trust her. Anyway... Here is the letter she typed. What do you make of it? Life Is Good (inspired by nature, touched by God) It's a good life; it is good to be alive. Sometimes I get down; sometimes I am up. There is this crazy web of things going on in my mind. I think about the people around me; and the people that are not around me. Every person with their own life to live; it is a good life for them too. Things can never be as bad as we think they can be. I wonder if anybody ever worries about me. I think I have started down a self destructive path[View Answers]
Should I ditch my laptop and get a netbook?0gannet2012-11-03 17:59:18
Right now, I have an Acer laptop which has been acting like crap since I ordered it. I was stupid enough not to say anything about it in the beginning. It is now too late to hope for any insurance or stuff of that nature. I have had it for a little over a year now and it suffers from BSoD. Recently, it has just been freezing on me and I have to either pop out the battery or auto power off by holding down the power button for a few seconds. The most common answer that comes up is an overheating problem. My cousin has recently just purchased a Gateway netbook and says she loves it. She said it runs fast and looks great. I have started looking at some of the newer Gateway netbooks and I am really liking it. I would like to try any netbook out just to see how it is using such a small laptop. I am so attracted to it that I am considering buying one. All I use computers for are iTunes and Internet browsing. In general, buying a Gateway netbook is actually a downgrade from my laptop, but I somehow feel it is the right choice. I do not want to end up paying more money trying to fix this laptop than I could just buying a new laptop. I can only afford a netbook, so another notebook is not an option. My dad is trying to convince me to fix the laptop I have now, but I am not sure. I would be extremely angry if the same problem happened again to this laptop. Would it be best to try and fix the laptop I have now or should I buy the Gateway netbook I have in mind now?[View Answers]
