Why don't people understand the difference between health care and health insurance?1guinea, fowl2012-06-20 15:28:04
Everyone seems to think that just because you have insurance , it makes you healthier and cheaper to make medical bills. Why can not people understand that the doctor still gets paid. It is only now that the doctor is paid , and the insurance company pays well.
Do people here know the difference between health insurance and health care?0Aly2012-07-13 07:05:03
With the entire nation insured, that's only going to drive the cost of health care UP. As of now, you go to a doctor for a simple procedure, and your insurance company gets charged an arm and a leg. If the entire country gets forced to carry insurance, every day will be a field day of overcharging for health care.

Do you know the difference between Health Care and Health Insurance?1HelpPLZisu!2012-08-07 14:45:02
The bill that past did nothing to provide or gaurantee heathcare as a right to everyone. What it did is mandate you buy health insurance. Everyone seems to think it was about health care, it was not. Here are the wiki definitions of each: Health care, or healthcare, is the treatment and management of illness, and the preservation of health through services offered by the medical, dental, complementary and alternative medicine, pharmaceutical, clinical sciences (in vitro diagnostics), nursing, and allied health professions Health insurance like other forms of insurance is a form of collectivism by means of which people collectively pool their risk, in this case the risk of incurring medical expenses. The collective is usually publicly owned or else is organized on a non-profit basis for the members of the pool, though in some countries health insurance pools may also be managed by for-profit companies
Why do people blame health insurance companies for the high cost of health care instead of?0Wanda2012-07-23 16:16:02

Could health care costs be kept down if people formed mutual health insurance companies?0estela2012-08-02 18:38:02
A lot of insurance companies used to be mutual companies before their executives pushed to dumutualize. Blue Cross companies used to be "non-profit" before that was changed. I found someone's old hospital bills from the 1970's and was astounded at how low those bills were. Could the changes in health insurance companies have played a major role in the run up of health care costs?
How will people like me afford to buy health insurance if the health care bill passes that requires it?1Anamika2012-08-11 23:45:38
Why do people insist on mixing up the concept of universal health 'insurance' with health 'care'?0Alba2012-07-13 11:16:02
I 've noticed that whenever the issue of universal health insurance goes up the most common responses are: " socilism " or "Canada" . Health insurance is something totally different to the 'health' . Based health insurance in private or employer leaves a huge number of Americans without health insurance. As we all eventually pay for insurance anyway , why not charge everyone something instead of charging a lot of nothing people and all the other more?

How will the Obama health care people determine what I can afford for health insurance?2JennyB2012-08-22 20:46:02
The Obama administration has promised that we all will have affordable insurance when his new plan takes effect. How do they determine this? Do I tell them what I can afford and they send a list of companies that have insurance for that price, or are they just going to say "this is price and we are telling you that you can afford it".
