I'm a 20 year old guy, and I've recently discovered that for some reason I can't lose weight. Around 6 months ago, I started putting on a ton of weight. Mostly from being in college, the stress got to me and I didn't really care what I was eating. I'm 5'9" and I weighed 225 lbs at my highest. Over the past month and a half that I've been on summer break, I've buckled down and changed my diet and exercise routine. I've cut out all the sugary stuff out of my diet, no snack foods, pizza, what have you, and I've just been eating healthy foods. I've also been eating less, and I feel like my metabolism is catching up. I've been drinking ONLY water for the past month, with the occasional cup of green tea, and working out 1.5-2 hours a day. (drumming, walking/ running, other cardio). I've only lost 1 pound, and I'm starting to think that for some reason I just can't lose weight. I currently don't have medical insurance, so I was hoping someone would know something about this. Thanks in advance.

Additional info:
-This can't be genetic, as both sides of my family are "normal". Not super skinny, but not "fat" in the least.
-Most of my fat is carried in my lower body, like the lower stomach area, love handles, thighs, and hips.
-I'm active whenever I get the chance to be.
-I've been at a normal weight most of my life. The weight suddenly came on in late 2011. I went from 170 to 225 in 5 months.
