I went to a doctor's appointment yesterday about plastic surgery for excess skin after weight loss to be eliminated. I asked about the payment and said the doctors office to write a letter to Blue Cross Blue Shield and can afford, they photographed me to send photos to them. I do not think this will work, but you can ?

Very doubtful. If you want it done for cosmetic purposes , then it is cosmetic and not covered. There should be a medical reason to cover it.

You can still get it done , just pay for it.

I was watching a talk show yesterday that showed a woman in this situation .... tried many different times to get insurance to pay, but refused each time because there is a " health risk . "

Perhaps, if the doctor can convince them that it is medically necessary.

Usually you have to have an infection in a fold of skin first, before it is medically necessary.
