Unless the financial contract he signed no such provision in the same , then no. However, you should keep in mind that if your bike is stolen or damaged , no matter if it's your fault or not , the lender is still going to want the payments . Not a good idea not to have full coverage of something that you owe money . Policies can be cheaper if you have a higher deductible .
