Do people here know the difference between health insurance and health care?0Aly2012-07-13 07:05:03
With the entire nation insured, that's only going to drive the cost of health care UP. As of now, you go to a doctor for a simple procedure, and your insurance company gets charged an arm and a leg. If the entire country gets forced to carry insurance, every day will be a field day of overcharging for health care.

The bill that past did nothing to provide or gaurantee heathcare as a right to everyone. What it did is mandate you buy health insurance. Everyone seems to think it was about health care, it was not. Here are the wiki definitions of each: Health care, or healthcare, is the treatment and management of illness, and the preservation of health through services offered by the medical, dental, complementary and alternative medicine, pharmaceutical, clinical sciences (in vitro diagnostics), nursing, and allied health professions Health insurance like other forms of insurance is a form of collectivism by means of which people collectively pool their risk, in this case the risk of incurring medical expenses. The collective is usually publicly owned or else is organized on a non-profit basis for the members of the pool, though in some countries health insurance pools may also be managed by for-profit companies

Health Insurance question- Do you really have to pay the difference?0Alexia2012-06-06 14:52:44
My dad had a recent kidney stone surgery and your insurance pays 80 %. In the insurance claim stating that he is responsible for the difference. However, my father heard on the radio before you do not have to pay for this sort of thing. I was a little reluctant to believe in it because it says so on the invoice. But it was the doctor who did the procedure and the doctor even said that will not be charged . ( The physician is not billing for us, the company of his lithotripter ) The doctor says that when the company gets the job should know firsthand that the insurance will not pay full and basically the company is trying to make us pay an unnecessary bill . My dad had this procedure done before , many years ago . It was a different insurance company at the time and also to a different doctor , but the place lithotripter is the same. At the time, also received a bill for the difference. But when my father showed the letter to that doctor, and somehow managed to not have to pay . I just called the center of the billing company and the lady said we have to pay , because that is what the benefits for example , the patient is responsible for the difference . But I said the first time you perform the procedure and told him I did not have to pay this time. She said she saw in the records, but is said to pay , but we did not. I do not know what the old doctor made the time, but is there any way around this ?
