Government intervention is the only way to provide coverage for pre-existing conditions.?0Crystina2012-08-29 15:45:14
The only reason most "pre-existing" conditions aren't already covered is because of government regulations that shrink the insurance market to a microscopic size, which leads to fewer options in health insurance and a lot more uninsured people than would exist in a free market. The free market has produced a dizzying array of insurance products in areas other than health. (Ironically, array-associated dizziness is not covered by most health plans.) Even insurance companies have "reinsurance" policies to cover catastrophic events occurring on the properties they insure, such as nuclear accidents, earthquakes and Michael Moore dropping in for a visit and breaking the couch. If we had a free market in health insurance, it would be inexpensive and easy to buy insurance for "pre-existing" conditions before they exist, for example, insurance on unborn -- unconceived -- children and health insurance even when you don't have a job. The vast majority of "pre-existing" conditions that currently exist in a cramped, limited, heavily regulated insurance market would be "covered" conditions under a free market in health insurance.

Why don't car insurance companies allow me to take out coverage for pre existing conditions?1Erika2012-09-22 06:41:02
I got into a car accident today, but I have no insurance. So I did the right thing and started calling insurance companies to try to cover accidental damage. All said they would have had to sign before the accident happened ! That is so unfair! That's like saying if I have cancer and want health insurance that would have carried out the policy stating that cover my cancer before I have actually ! Absolutely ridiculous! The government has been seeking in the murky business of insurance companies , they need to start doing the same with these auto insurance companies that are trying to screw the most innocent .
Please help me in getting help with medical coverage on pre-existing conditions. Bad insurance hurts us..?0Rockinafreakopotomus 2012-05-18 19:08:38
Diabeties I have type 2 and heart valves. tried to get a different coverage or coverage of a second added, but no one is going to take. Those who are asking much more for us to use in our budget. I can not even afford my medication. and my co -pay of 50.00 visits. Not to mention our share of medical spending in hosptal stays and tests and treatments. Now I can lose my job because the company thinks I'm a risk. We're behind on our bills because of this. Where I can go from here? Government says that too much to the audience. Where is our government to the people like us? I will not vote this time? Who I can trust ? I 'm so depressed with all this. We just wanted to live the American Dream ! We wanted to buy this little place we are renting , because our children are grown now. And to enjoy our lives . Our credit is in bad shape now and is not improving . Is this it? And what about our children and grandchildren? What's in your future? I need answers.
If the gov't option can't deny coverage because of pre-existing conditions, why buy it while healthy?1cassy2012-10-15 17:59:02
President Obama reiterated last week that " no insurance company can deny coverage because of a pre -existing medical condition ." This is an oft-repeated goal of the president and the Democratic plan for health. But if anyone can buy health insurance at any time , why would anyone buy health insurance while healthy ? Why not just wait until they got sick or injured to buy the insurance ? If auto insurance were purchasable once had an accident , why would anyone buy auto insurance before an accident ? Will the Democrats next demand that life insurance companies sell life insurance to the terminally ill ? The whole point of insurance is that the healthy buy it and thereby provide the funds to pay for the sick . Require insurance companies offer insurance to everyone at any time represents the end of the concept of insurance . And if the answer is that now the government will not purchase insurance illegal , how can we meet ? How will the government check on 300 million people ?
Health coverage denied for pre-existing conditions that no longer exist?1Charles2012-07-25 20:29:02
The online form for health coverage asked about the medications I had taken over the past five years. Well, I stopped taking the drugs months ago when I stopped having those conditions! Basically I was diagnosed with hypertension and diabetes when she weighed 180 pounds . I now weigh 145 and self- testing with a glucose meter and the sample arm band that no longer has high blood pressure or diabetes. How I can get a company health coverage to the account my medical history is, in fact , the story ?
