I have a dx of Asperger syndrome and depression .... but I heard it's really hard to get on disability . I can not keep a job because I can not seem to get along with people because of my inability to read the intentions of others. ( Asperger Syndrome is a form of high functioning autism , affecting social skills )

I am from the U.S. .... I heard it's very difficult to get SSDI. Sometimes I wonder if Asperger syndrome is not seen by the administrator of Social Security as a false diagnosis ..... I have a feeling I'll never quality. I have no allies in life - I'm all alone .

thanks for any information / advice and general comments about Asperger's.

It is difficult , in general, to get SSDI and have heard that most people are initially denied . Most people have to apply two or three times before succeeding . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus It is difficult to deal with the system in terms of Asperger syndrome . Only the most severe forms of it seems to be accepted as a disability . However, depression is classified as a disability , so you should be able to get SSDI because of depression . Just do not give up if you are rejected for the first time . Try again . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus There are also some organizations that help people with disabilities find suitable employment . You could try to find one in your area and contact them and see if they can help you find the right job for you . MedlinePlus MedlinePlus Good Luck !
